Tottenham Afternoon Round-Up, Monday 19th October 2026: Kulusevski Returns to Spurs Squad for Coventry Clash After 526 Days Out

The big story building towards tonight's game is Dejan Kulusevski's long-awaited return to Tottenham's matchday squad to face Coventry, following what Football.London describe as 526 days of injury hell (Football.London). Roberto De Zerbi has praised how the midfielder coped with his rehabilitation and predicted he could come back as a "better" and "stronger" player (Spurs Web), while Spurs Web have pulled together stats suggesting his style is perfectly suited to De Zerbi's system (Spurs Web).

There's more encouraging news on the injury front, with Spurs Web reporting that Xavi Simons appears to be making rapid progress in his recovery from the ACL injury he suffered back in April, based on a new video (Spurs Web). A wider club injury update lists expected comeback dates for all seven players currently missing (Spurs Web), while Luca Williams-Barnett is tipped by Spurs Web to be in contention for a place among the substitutes against Coventry (Spurs Web).

Away from injuries, Spurs Web say Richarlison has been embroiled in a fresh social media controversy, reportedly having lost ownership of a private island on top of his place in the squad (Spurs Web). On loan at Sunderland, Kevin Danso was sent off in a Premier League match against Bournemouth and has since apologised, according to Football.London (Football.London).

Behind the scenes, De Zerbi is said by Spurs Web to have identified his preferred candidate for Tottenham's new Sporting Director role (Spurs Web). Former Spurs man David Ginola has also questioned the dressing room's respect for De Zerbi amid the club's difficult start, Football.London report (Football.London). Elsewhere, Spurs Web detail what the squad got up to during their Marbella trip, including a meeting with Anthony Joshua (Spurs Web), and the club's U21s saw Tyrese Hall score a fine chip just a day after returning from that camp (Spurs Web).

Finally, Tottenham's official site has confirmed December fixture changes (TottenhamHotspur.com), with Football.London reporting four Premier League games have been moved, including the Arsenal fixture (Football.London), and Spurs Web noting the reshuffle leaves Spurs with a tough scheduling disadvantage around the North London derby (Spurs Web).
