Tottenham Lunchtime Round-Up, Tuesday 20th October 2026: Maddison and Kulusevski Star as Win Over Coventry Dominates the Agenda

Spurs finally picked up their first Premier League win of the season, beating Coventry City 3-1 on Monday night, and the aftermath is dominating the headlines (Football.London) (Football.London) (Football.London) (Football.London). Roberto De Zerbi gave little away when asked for an injury update on three players following the victory, according to Football.London (Football.London). There was also plenty of reaction in the dressing room, with Football.London detailing what James Maddison got up to with Luca Williams-Barnett after the game (Football.London).

James Maddison, making his first start in over 500 days, scored Tottenham's opener and has since put out an apology statement about how he celebrated, which Football.London say shows his "true colours" (Football.London). Fellow returnee Dejan Kulusevski also opened up on the emotional toll of his comeback after almost 18 months out with a complicated knee injury, revealing the heartbreaking thing he told his family beforehand (Football.London).

On the transfer front, Spurs Web report that Tottenham scouts were in Germany watching an in-form Bundesliga striker during a match also attended to run the rule over Mikey Moore (Spurs Web). The site also claims Spurs could land Brazilian goalkeeper Otavio for £60m below his release clause (Spurs Web), while Manchester United are said to be competing with Tottenham for Croatian forward Dion Beljo, valued at around £21m (Spurs Web). Elsewhere, AC Milan have reportedly entered the race alongside Spurs and Arsenal for Nicolo Tresoldi, a target valued at more than £42m (Spurs Web).

Away from the pitch, Tottenham fans have dismissed rumours that former boss Mauricio Pochettino was ever open to joining Arsenal, branding the claims "attention seeking", as reported by Spurs Web (Spurs Web). And in a lighter story, club icon Jan Vertonghen is set to take on a legend from a different sport altogether, Football.London reveal (Football.London).
