Tottenham Lunchtime Round-Up, Wednesday 21st October 2026: Kulusevski's Emotional Return Headlines After Coventry Win

Spurs are still buzzing after finally picking up their first Premier League win of the season, beating Coventry 3-1, and the display earned one Tottenham player a place in the Team of the Week, reportedly giving Chelsea boss De Zerbi a selection headache ahead of the next fixture (Spurs Web). Not everyone was pleased with every performance though, with Jamie O'Hara letting rip at one Spurs player during the victory (Spurs Web), while Spurs Web's own analysis suggests the three-goal win masked an underlying concern that De Zerbi will need to address (Spurs Web).

The big feel-good story of the win was Dejan Kulusevski's emotional comeback after nearly 18 months out, with the midfielder saying Tottenham is starting to feel like home again and adding that "they know who I am" (Spurs Web). His return has sparked debate, with Football.London running a poll asking whether he should now start against Chelsea (Football.London).

Away from matters on the pitch, former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has predicted that Tottenham will finish above Manchester United in the Premier League table this season, despite their slow start (Spurs Web). Football.London also reports that Spurs could face a reunion with former manager Thomas Frank on the pitch before too long, with a "warning" said to have been sent (Football.London).

On the transfer front, there's a concerning update regarding Pedro Porro, with reports suggesting Tottenham may struggle to keep hold of the £75m-rated right-back despite him only recently signing a new long-term contract (Spurs Web).
