Tottenham v Coventry City live: score, updates and line-ups

Full time: Tottenham 3-1 Coventry City. Maddison's early curler and Marmoush's second-half strike had Spurs in control after Rudoni's quickfire leveller threatened to derail them, and deep into stoppage time substitute Ben Davies wrapped things up with a fine left-footed finish set up by Solanke. A thoroughly deserved win given Tottenham's dominance of possession and chances throughout, even if Coventry caused some nervy moments after the break.

Spurs have continued to push for a third without finding it - Kudus curled just wide and Fernandes forced a smart save from Rushworth - while Coventry's only real sniff came from an Awoniyi header that drifted wide. More changes from both sides, including Kulusevski and Tel on for Kudus and the injured Marmoush, as Tottenham see out the closing stages still well on top at 2-1.

Spurs have made a flurry of changes - Gallagher and Ben Davies on for Maddison and the injured Robertson, with Fernandes also replacing the hobbling Tosin - but the pattern of the game hasn't changed much. Kudus shot just wide and Solanke saw an effort blocked as Tottenham continue to dominate the ball, while Coventry's best moment came from an Awoniyi header that drifted off target after Van Ewijk's cross. Rudoni's booking for a foul on Tonali sums up Coventry's afternoon of chasing shadows as they try to hang on at 2-1.

Marmoush makes amends for that earlier miss, finding the net after Rushworth had denied him moments before to put Spurs back in front. Fitting reward for Tottenham's relentless pressure, who've continued to dominate possession and chances despite Coventry's leveller.

Sloppy start to the second half from Spurs punished instantly - Rudoni slots home from close range after a swift Coventry break, Thomas-Asante the architect. Tottenham have responded well though, with Van de Ven and Tonali both forcing saves or going close, and Marmoush denied by Rushworth as the hosts look to reclaim the lead.

Spurs keep the lion's share of possession as the half draws to a close, though Coventry have grown a touch braver, winning a couple of corners and matching the hosts on fouls. Maddison and Solanke both had efforts blocked or wide, but Coventry's discipline is wobbling - Dasilva joins Yirenkyi in the book - as the sides head in with Tottenham's 1-0 lead intact after three added minutes.

Tottenham remain comfortably on top, still enjoying the lion's share of the ball, though the game has become a bit stop-start with cards for Yirenkyi and Solanke and a few fouls creeping in from both sides. Coventry are matching the hosts for shots but haven't tested the keeper, while a Spurs corner just before the half-hour shows they're still probing for a second.

Maddison curls one into the top corner! Kudus did the groundwork before the midfielder lashed home from outside the box, and Spurs are deservedly ahead after dominating possession early on.
